Why Should I Help?
The Joomla! project is an all-volunteer organization. That is what sets us apart from other large Open Source projects. By volunteering, you join a large, international and diverse group of passionate individuals, looking to empower people and companies to connect, communicate, and be competitive on the world wide web.
Volunteer
Everyone has a skill and the Joomla! Certification Program would love to discover yours! Whether it’s answering a question in the forum, helping to design a landingpage for a Joomla! Event, translating content to your language, coding CSS, Javascript or PHP and everything in between, there is a job for everyone!
Translating
Every project has a first step. The first step of the Joomla! Certification Program was to realize an Administrator exam in English. In order to make the exams available in other languages we need people to translate the questions. You only have to meet two criteria to start:
- Pass your (Administrator) Exam
- Convince us you can translate specific texts in the context of Joomla! CMS into another language.
You can join the overall Joomla! translation group to help the Community to spread the Joomla! Love so more.
Supervising
Joomla! Administrators, Developers, Template builders, etc. need to pass their exam to become Joomla! Certified. To achieve this it is important that every person can take their exam in a quiet room. To ensure that exam takers truly understand Joomla! someone needs to supervise the exam to prevent cheating. This is where supervisors come in.
What does a supervisor do?
Before the exam begins the supervisor should read the exam rules to all candidates. Exams should be supervised by at least one Certification Operation Team member, an accredited supervisor and/or a JLP supervisor. They should monitor the exam closely to ensure that candidates are not using unauthorized resources, cheat or talk.
These are just a few examples of what a supervisor does.
