On Saturday, October 15, 2016, Italian Joomlers had the opportunity to attend the first Joomla! Administrator Exam in Italy. This session has been hosted by a Joomla! Learning Partner in a data center in Pisa, where candidates used an incredibly fast internet connection (757 Mbps). Bonaventura Pizzoferro and Mattia Cattaneo became the first two Italian certified Joomla! Administrators. Supervisor Luca Marzo congratulated them on behalf of the Joomla! Certification Program.

We asked organizer Marco Mangione about this experience with the JCP as a Joomla! Learning Partner.

Why did you decide to become a JLP?

CorsodiJoomla.it is a very well-known website in Italy concerning the online training courses about Joomla!. It is one of the three brands included in Colt Academy, which is part of a bigger company, called Colt Engine, together with two other brands focused on Hosting Services: Dnshosting.it and JoomlaHost.it. As you can see, we are very skilled about Joomla! moreover, our offer is very specialized about Joomla! products and services. As far as we knew about the Joomla! Certification Program, we decided that it could be a very important focus for us and for our Joomla! users. We would like to add this opportunity to our offer for all our users who want to obtain Joomla! Certification moreover, we thought that it could be very useful to add a specific Training Course to help people preparing the Joomla! Administrator Exam. Therefore, we started writing a Joomla! Administrator Guide in Italian for all our Italian users and we applied as JLP.

Why do you think people should get certified?

We think that the Joomla! Certification Program is a very useful opportunity for Joomla! professionals to certificate their skills and their experiences with the CMS. Nowadays, there are many “experts” in the Joomla! Community, but it is difficult to recognize who of them are the real professionals. Joomla! users who obtain the Certification could easily demonstrate their skills with their customers and it could be also a personal pride for them (a pride that could be quantified economically).

How do you feel about being the first Italian JLP that hosts an exam?

It is an honor to be the first Italian JLP that hosts a Joomla! Certification Exam. Our mission is to help users learning how to use Joomla! for personal and professional purposes and we think that the Joomla! Certification is a very good way to gain esteem in the Joomla! Community for users who work with the CMS. We know that many of our users who started learning Joomla! through our training course then became Joomla! professionals and we want to keep on helping these users to increase their skills.

How did you get prepared for the exam?

As I said before, we decided to create a specific Training Course dedicated to the Joomla! Certification Exam. In particular, we focused on Joomla! Administration topics. We created a complete guide that explains all the aspects and features of Joomla! backend. The guide is in Italian, as our main target are Italian users, but we decided to use the original English name of all features in order to help users memorizing them for the Exam that is in English only. We opened the enrollment one month before the exam date so users had enough time to study and get prepared for the exam.

Will you visit JoomlaDay Italy too?

I am going to reveal you a secret: CorsodiJoomla.it is strictly connected to JoomlaHost.it, which is one of the main sponsor and organizers of JoomlaDay Italia since the first edition. To answer your question, yes we are going to be in Rome on November, 12 at JoomlaDay Italy. Furthermore, we are going to host another exam session for Joomla! Certification during the event. As soon as we have more details about all details regarding this new session, we are going to inform all users interested in the Joomla! Certification Program.

ITALIAN VERSION

Administrator in Italia.
