To ensure that exam takers are able to focus on their exam, certain rules and requirements apply. These also ensure that the exams are executed properly. Both the Exam Provider and the exam candidate will benefit from these rules.
The Joomla! Certification Team will check and may verify all examinations from time to time. They may also ask Certification Ambassadors or any other authorized person to check the Exam Provider examination process on a regular basis.
A Joomla! Learning Partner shall have:
- at least 1 year experience providing Joomla! training or services (Joomla! web development, etc).
- at least 1 room to conduct Joomla Certification (must be a physical location, not virtual), furnished with tables and chairs.
- at least 1 Supervisor for the examination monitoring and reporting (can be internal or one of the Trusted Supervisors).
- a high speed internet connection.
- a high-quality approach to services and customer satisfaction.
All Joomla! Learning Partners must comply with exam room standards and guidelines (see below).
A Joomla User Group or JoomlaDay shall have:
- at least 1 room to conduct the Joomla Certification Exam, furnished with tables and chairs.
- at least 1 Supervisor for the examination monitoring and reporting (can be internal or one of the Trusted Supervisors).
- a high speed internet connection.
Responsibilities of an Exam Provider
- Sign an agreement with the Joomla! Certification Program.
- Ensure that candidates purchased exam seats from the Joomla! Certification Program.
- Plan and conduct Joomla! Certification Exam sessions.
- All examinations shall be supervised by an approved Supervisor or a Trusted Supervisor.
- Ensure that no misconduct occurs during the examination.
- Ensure that all information provided by participants is valid and cross check their identity with a photo ID.
Exam Provider Code of Conduct
- The Exam Provider shall ensure to have all the needed information to conduct a successful exam session.
- The Exam Provider manages all documentation associated with the identification of the candidates.
- The Exam Provider assures that the candidates do not enter the exam zone with unauthorized materials and devices.
- The Exam Provider manages and documents irregularities, sending a detailed report to the Joomla! Certification Team.
- The Exam Provider must ensure the integrity and security of the exam material.
Qualified Supervisors
- Supervisors shall not supervise exams taken by candidates where a conflict of interest can arise (family, friends, etc.).
- Supervisors shall have a thorough knowledge of the computing platform where exams are performed.
- Supervisors shall sign the Code of Conduct which regulates the exam procedures.
- Supervisors shall sign the OSM Non Disclosure Agreement in order to handle candidates’ and exam's data.
Exam Room requirements
- Room shall be closed during an exam.
- Free of noise and distractions.
- The Supervisor has a clear line of sight of the room and all the monitors. Each candidate can be observed by the Supervisor(s).
- All doors which are not entrances shall stay closed during an exam.
- Whenever possible, the room shall have barriers for candidates to prevent seeing each other's monitors.
- Surfaces shall be large enough to fit computer equipment and allowed resources.
- The room shall be well illuminated.
- The room shall be accessible and barrier free to all candidates, including disabled persons in a wheelchair.
- High Speed Internet Connection (Cabled or Wi-Fi).
Minimum technical specifications for exam computers (either provided by the Exam Provider or BYOD)
- Browser: Safe Exam Browser.
- Minimum screen resolution 1024 x 768 pixel.
- Minimum memory of 1GB of RAM.
- CPU with minimum speed of 1.5 GHz.
- Hard drive 5 GB minimum.
- MacOS X or Windows 7 and above (Linux is currently not supported).
- The use of the Terminal Server is NOT allowed.

Exam Provider Badge
Approved Joomla Exam Providers are entitled to use and show the Official Joomla Exam Provider Badge. The badge can be used only on their websites and should link directly to their listing on the Joomla Learning Partners Directory or the Joomla Users Group Directory. Usage is subject to standard Joomla Trademark rules and shall be coupled with the display of the related disclaimer in the footer of the website.
